Charlene Arbuckle OBanion,
age 58, of Palm Bay, Florida, formerly of Red Boiling
Springs, TN, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010 at her residence in Florida.
Funeral Services for Charlene Arbuckle OBanion will be conducted Saturday, July
31, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Anderson & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Red Boiling
Springs with E. C. Meadows officiating. Interment followed in the Whitley
Cemetery. Her relatives and friends served as pallbearers. She was born on
Friday, April 18, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky, one of two siblings born to the
late Charles Curtiss and Elise (Rice) Arbuckle. Charlene was retired from
Hazelwood Center in Louisville, Kentucky, where she was a Licensed Practical
Nurse with 20 years of service and was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of
God in Melbourne, Florida. Survivors include: Son, Jayson (Pam) Martin of Terre
Haute, IN, Daughter, Becky Owen of Bedford, TX, Sister, Donna Leonhardt of
Louisville, KY, Special Aunt, Louise Lague of Palm Bay, FL and 12 grandchildren.

Mrs. Helen Nelson Payne
Memorial services for Mrs. Helen Nelson Payne are scheduled for
1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the First Presbyterian Church, 304
West Main Street, Lebanon, with Rev. Bill Bryant officiating. Visitation will be
from 11:30 AM until service time at the church.
Mrs. Payne, age 85 of Lebanon passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Quality
Care.
Born March 25, 1925, in Davidson County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the
late Charles and Polly Prentiss Nelson. She graduated from Ward Belmont and
attended Caseman College. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She
volunteered with the American Red Cross, and worked with Matthew 25, the Martha
O’Brien Center, and United Cerebral Palsy. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her son, George G. Payne III; and two brothers, Charles and
Billy Nelson.
She is survived by her husband of sixty three years, George G. Payne Jr.; two
daughters, Helen (Jerry) Holt of Nashville and Emily Payne of Lebanon; 8
grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two sisters, Polly Craig and Betty Nelson;
and a brother Ed Nelson all of Nashville.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 304 West Main Street,
Lebanon, TN 37087.

William Swafford
Mr. Billy Swafford, age 78 of the Rome Community, died Thursday
afternoon, July 29 at his home. He is survived by: wife, Jimmye Swafford;
children, Linda Ortale & husband Severn of Nashville, Keith Swafford & wife
Michelle of Nashville; step-children, Tommy Litchford & wife Marie of Rome,
Mickey Litchford of Carthage, Annette Dies & husband Andy of Rome, Jackie
Underwood & husband Jesse of Rome, Patty Rogers & husband Milburn of Cookeville,
Linda Brewington & husband Marty of Grant, Gail Dies and husband Michael of
Auburntown; 2 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren.
Mr. Swafford is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. He is to be
cremated and a memorial service conducted Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
with Bro. Jimmy Gregory officiating. A private burial will be conducted at a
later date in the Peachtree Memorial Park in Norcross, GA.
The family will receive friends at the Carthage Chapel on Sunday from 1 p.m.
until service time at 3:00 p.m.
