SSozo Ministries 3rd Annual Toy Drive is underway and going through Dec. 15th. Toys can be dropped off at Soul Fire Ministries at 116 Main Street and check out their Facebook page to see what local restaurants are giving specials for donating toys. Calvary Baptist Church will once again be participating in its Christmas backpack program. The church will be giving away backpacks for children ages 2-17 who are in need of one of the backpacks, which contain a variety of essential supplies. The backpacks will be given away the morning of Dec. 13th. Interested individuals must register Dec. 6th by calling Craig Harris at 615-633-8090.

The Mt. Hermon Community Center will have a dance featuring Hickory Smoke Saturday night. Doors open at 6pm and the dance starts at 7pm.

The 30th Annual Jr. Pro Basketball Sign Up will be December 3rd from 5:30-9pm at Central Elementary. The player entrance fee is $60 and games start in January. For more information call 615-666-7230.

City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of Thanksgiving Holiday. Thursday’s route will be picked up on Monday and Friday’s route will be picked up on Wednesday.

Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church will have a special Thanksgiving service this evening beginning with a fellowship meal at 5pm followed by Thanksgiving service at 7pm with Bro Jimmy Clayborne.
