The Macon County Republican Party meeting has been rescheduled for tonight from 7-8pm at the Macon County Chamber of Commerce.

 

The public is invited to travel with the Macon County Retired Teachers to Callaway Gardens, April 5th & 6th.  Travel to Pine Mountain, Georgia and visit the gardens including the butterfly center, horticulture center, discovery center and vegetable garden.  For more information, call Peggy Stephens at 615-666-4004 or Carolyn Winn at 615-666-2089.

 

The Macon County Planning Commission will meet on Tuesday at 6pm at the UCHRA Building at 607 Hwy 52 Bypass in Suite E. The public is invited to attend.

 

Bro Bart Barton will preach at Union Missionary Baptist Church, Sunday at 11am.

 

Eric Davis will preach at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Sunday at 6pm.

 

The last day to enroll for the MCJH and RBSJH Washington D.C. and New York City trip is Wednesday the 17th. All junior high students will be chaperoned by teachers and do not require a parent to attend. Also, any adult from the community may enroll for the trip. The Macon County Senior Citizens Center will have a Valentine’s Dance, Friday night from 6pm until 10pm. Adults $6 & kids 6-12 $4. All proceeds go to benefit The Macon County Senior Citizens Center. Come and enjoy food, fun and music by Roger Lewis and the Old Nashville Players.

 

The Macon County Trustee will be in Red Boiling Springs, today to collect property tax. The location is City Hall from 8am until 4pm. Please bring your tax bill if possible. The office in Lafayette will be open also.

 

The L.B.J. & C. Development Corporation Head Start Centers and the Central Office will be closed Monday in observance of President’s Day.

 

The Lafayette City Hall will be closed Monday in observance of President’s Day. Monday and Tuesday’s garbage routes will run Tuesday.

 

County government offices in Macon County will be closed Monday in observance of President’s Day.

Eulia General Baptist Church at Old Hwy 52 near Westside school, will have a Gospel Singing, Sunday at 6pm. The singers will be Brothers Adcock and the Happy Hearts.

 

Antioch Missionary Baptist Church will have Bible Study, Book of Revelations by Elder Don Curtis, tonight 7pm-8pm, weather permitting.

 

The Macon County Election Commission has moved to its new location at 607 Hwy 52 Bypass E Suite C. Early voting will be done at this location also. Early voting for the Presidential Preference is open through the 23rd.

 

There will be a Chocolate Festival at the Fellowship Hall in Lafayette United Methodist Church on 506 Bratton Ave., Friday from 5pm until 6:30pm.

 

Calling all Poets! Macon County Arts Council invites you to submit your poetry for consideration as part of an exhibition at the Macon County Welcome Center Community Room. Limit is 3 poems per person, must be “family friendly”, a photo by a local photographer will accompany each poem in the exhibition. Submit poems to history@nctc.com or mail to P.O.
